One of the core areas of the Office which is currently operational, is Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate. The directorate was established with the specific objective of tracking and assessing all Projects, policies and programs of government with the view to provide management and the main stakeholders of the projects and programmes with indications of the extent of progress and achievements of the objectives. The work of the directorate also, is provision of a useful base for review/evaluation, ensure whether you are doing what you planned to do or not. Moreover, the directorate has effective and efficient systems to monitor and evaluate performance in terms of the outcomes of Gombe State 10-year development plan 2021-2030 (DEVAGOM) and all its programmes.
SOME OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE DIRECTORATE
With the coming of the present administration on board in May, 2019 the directorate which has a staff strength of 9 officers has a very strong robust functional M&E, some of its success stories are;
– Development of 10-year M&E framework, and implementation system and mechanism for monitoring and evaluating Gombe State 10-Year Development Plan.
– Generate buy-in for the implementation of Gombe State 10-Year Development Plan Monitoring and Evaluation
– Manage engagement with all implementing MDAs and Development Partners for Monitoring and Evaluation of Gombe State 10-Year Development Plan implementation.
– Address the capacity of M&E Staff on Monitoring and Evaluation System.
– Derive inter-ministerial coordination and support for strengthened evidence-based planning and budgeting by all MDAs in Gombe State
– Provision of Adequate Materials / working tool / equipment’s such as laptops, desktop file cabinet, printer, Camera etc.
– Facilitation of development of BP&DPCO Strategy plan 2020-2023
– Strong political will.
– Strong collaboration with Gombe State bureau of statistics
The Directorate also is the secretariat for the following:

– Food and Nutrition Activities
– Social Protection Policy Activities
